Pesticide Update Seminars for Forest Managers

Confor is supporting a series of regional one-day updating crop protection seminars for forest managers and owners during April and May to fulfil Defra recommendations on training and information retrieval.The seminars will be led by Confor crop protection adviser Colin Palmer and will include:

  • Implications of latest regulation
  • Avoiding environmental harm
  • Operator safety
  • Control of Hylobius and other insect pests
  • Best application practice
  • Advances in weed control
  • Optional: Christmas tree programmes
  • Amenity weed control

Provisional Dates and Locations

All dates and venues are subject to change, reflecting demand:

  • Wednesday 9 April: Ludlow, Shropshire
  • Thursday 1 April: Tiverton, Devon
  • Wednesday 23 April: Farnham, Surrey
  • Wednesday 30 April: Peterborough, Cambs
  • Tuesday 6 May: Penrith, Cumbria
  • Thursday 8 May: Dunblane, Perthshire
  • Friday 9 May: Inverness

The courses run from 10am to 4.30pm and will follow a BASIS training protocol, be highly interactive, allowing ample time for shared experience and questions.In order to keep costs to the minimum, courses will be based in village halls or similar, and the cost will be £65.00 (no VAT) per delegate.Each course will be limited to 25 attendees.
