Firefighters Quell Massive Fire on Scottish Moors
Firefighters and forestry workers have stopped a moorland blaze at Drumburn Hill which started on Monday. There were fears it would spread to the adjacent 70-hectare forest near Kirkbean and Southwick.
The Forestry Commission provided off-road vehicles to get vital equipment to the site, as well as trying to get a water carrying helicopter to ‘bomb’ the heart of the fire.
