Dear Shireen,

ICF POSITION PAPER – FORESTRY SKILLS CRISIS

Thank you for your email dated 7 October 2021 requesting a meeting to discuss the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) workforce position paper. I welcome this initiative by the ICF, which seeks to equip the tree management sectors with the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications to meet the undoubted forthcoming challenges and opportunities to help address climate change.

I would be pleased to meet with you to discuss these issues and will contact you in due course to make the necessary arrangements.

Yours sincerely,

EDWIN POOTS MLA
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs
