We have received another response on the back of our position paper on the skills crisis. Edwin Poots MLA, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Minister in Northern Ireland, has sent a letter of support to our Executive Director, Shireen Chambers MBE FICFor, and has requested a meeting to discuss how we can work together to urgently address the issues raised in our paper.

Thank you for your email dated 7 October 2021 requesting a meeting to discuss the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) workforce position paper. I welcome this initiative by the ICF, which seeks to equip the tree management sectors with the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications to meet the undoubted forthcoming challenges and opportunities to help address climate change.
