Call for Institute Representatives

Do you want to actively help shape your profession? The Institute has two opportunities arising for member nominations to represent us on the following groups:

  • FISA Steering Group – Please note for this role the nominee must be a member of FISA, or join, thus agreeing to support the Accord and act as a FISA ambassador.
  • UKWAS Steering Group – Environmental chamber

All Institute representatives serve an initial two-year term. In addition to attending the meetings, we ask that Institute representatives provide reports to Council and occasional updates for TREES magazine. A fuller briefing document is available on request should you be interested in either role. Representative roles are not remunerated but relevant expenses will be covered by the Institute.

Benefits from being an Institute representative are:

  • Actively develop skills, both personal and professional
  • The opportunity to make a difference by influencing policy
  • The opportunity to build and enjoy a strong and active network of peers
  • Actively shape the future of your profession

If you are interested in representing the Institute, please provide a short statement (max. 400 words) covering how your skills and experience could best be used in the role you’re applying for. Please send this to the Institute’s Senior Technical Officer, Shona Smyth MICFor by 5pm on Friday 24 February.
