Perth & Argyll Regional Forestry Forum Seeks New Members
The Perth and Argyll Regional Forestry Forum is seeking 6 new members to help the Forum guide the work of Forestry Commission Scotland’s local Conservancy team, which aims to increase the contribution of forestry to rural development, increase the provision of public benefits from forestry and increase public awareness of the importance of woodlands within the area.
Suited to people with an interest in the promotion and development of forestry, woodlands and trees, the voluntary and unpaid Forum role is a great opportunity to participate in policy development and delivery of the aims of the Scottish Forestry Strategy. Applications have been particularly encouraged from people with expertise, experience and enthusiasm in: farming and forestry; environment and cultural heritage; forest industries and the economy, forest tourism (cultural, activity based, wildlife); urban woodlands and; community forestry.
Forum posts are voluntary and unpaid, but are eligible for travel expenses. The forum meets four times a year and is a combination of indoor and outdoor field visits to various sites throughout the Conservancy looking at a variety of Forestry issues as well as areas of high importance and interest.
