Job description

Are you a chartered Forester, Landscape Architect, Ecologist or Rural Land Surveyor with a passion for the environment and experience in community forestry, or planning tree and
woodland planting in particular?

LIVE∙WORK∙LEAD

If so, there is an exciting opportunity to lead the newly formed Wiltshire and Swindon Woodland and tree Planting Programme in partnership with Swindon Borough Council’s
Great Western Community Forest. This is a full-time, temporary positions for 24 months located at Trowbridge, County Hall.

About the role

You will be using your specialist knowledge and experience to facilitate planting schemes across Wiltshire and Swindon to meet challenging planting targets to help us meet our
Climate Delivery targets. Working in partnership with communities, landowners, and other statutory and charitable stakeholders this will be an excellent opportunity for anyone who
wants to make a positive difference to enhancing the environment and combating climate change, whilst progressing your career in the environmental sector.

About you

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced and skilled person to mentor and lead the Woodland Officer Team, reporting to the Senior Landscape Officer (Landscape
and Woodland Projects), based in the Natural and Historic Environment Service, at County Hall in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
