Job description

With the growth of our business, we have a number of new opportunities in the
South Scotland Forestry team in the role of Forest Manager or Senior Forest Manager
depending on experience.
In the role of Forest Manager/Senior Forest Manager you will be responsible for delivering
a professional high-quality woodland management service to our existing clients
together with on-going forestry related opportunities, including woodland creation. The
role includes building sound client relationships and, day to day, the preparation of client
estimates, production of reports, implementation and control of work programmes and
grant applications, initially in support of more senior forest managers.
About you
With prior experience in the Forestry or Land based sector, you have strong commercial
acumen and ability to build and maintain exceptional relationships with key business
stakeholders including colleagues, clients and contractors. In addition to this, you’ll have:
• Completed or working towards a Degree or Diploma in Forestry, or other land based
subject(s).
• Sound knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS.
• Knowledge of Pesticide Mixing and Application Safe Use (PA1).
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant
professional body is desirable.
• Experience of working within areas of sensitive habitat and European protected
Species (EPS) would be beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence.
