We have an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our North Wales Area team in the role of Forest Manager/Senior Forest Manager, depending on experience.
The success of the North Wales team is partly down to the diversity of clients with which we engage, which includes landed estates, private forestry investors and investment funds, individual and family farmers, national parks, charitable organisations, utility companies and local councils.
The role involves providing a high-quality woodland management service, building and maintaining professional client, supplier, contractor and stakeholder relationships and, day to day, the preparation of client budgets, production of reports, implementation and control of work programmes and grant applications.
Key to your success in the role will be working with local teams, including forestry, business development, forest investment and harvesting to manage and grow a successful portfolio of forestry clients, maximizing the quality of the client experience and profit generated.
About you
As an experienced forestry professional, with a background in forestry (or other related sector), you are able to demonstrate your strong commercial acumen and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. In addition, you’ll have:
- Strong commercial and client relationship skills.
- Good knowledge of upland and lowland forestry silviculture.
- Work constructively with multi-disciplinary teams across wider company.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Business development experience (desirable).
- Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS (desirable).
- Good knowledge of Glastir (desirable).
- Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body (desirable).
