Job description

Position Overview

As part of a small, skilled, professional team the role will require a high degree of expertise and knowledge in trees and related disciplines. You will be responsible for the management of your own projects, liaising with Clients, collaborating with other consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tree Risk Assessment. Sound knowledge of tree and plant biology. Good understanding of tree biomechanics and pathology. Experience with Sonic Tomography, Resistance Drilling and Static Pull Testing desirable.
  • Tree management in Development Projects (BS5837): Collaboration to integrate trees into site design.  Prepare reports, plans etc for best tree management during the construction and beyond.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2- 3yrs experience of on-site surveying, report writing and deliverables for planning
  • Level 4 Arboricultural Technician Certificate minimum requirement
  • Professional Tree Inspectors certificate preferable
  • A degree in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, or a related field preferable
  • Proficient in tree assessment and risk evaluation techniques
  • Professional certifications, such as ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) preferable
  • Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable
  • Climbing ability and certification preferable
  • Strong knowledge of tree species, pests and diseases
  • Familiarity with all relevant regulations, codes, and guidelines related to trees and forests
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Office, word and excel proficient
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using arboricultural software, GIS, CAD and other relevant tools
  • Driving licence.
