Timothy, former Secretary and Chair of the ICF North England regional committee, received the award following 30 years of service in the forestry industry. He is currently Working Forest Manager at the Duncombe Park Estate, in Helmsley, Yorkshire. Timothy explained his work there:

“At Duncombe Park I have overseen the transition of estate woodlands from one that was fundamentally timber producing to an UKWAS Certified forest that supports the estate’s wide ranging activities from outdoor events, field sports and public access whilst still producing quality timber.”

Timothy shared the RFS accolade with John Taylor, of the Parlington Estate, who received a 50-year service award.

John, 86, first worked with the estate as an invited timber buyer but quickly became resident contractor/manager and now supervises two subsequent generations of his family working on the estate. Estate Woodlands Adviser Andrew Woods said:

“It is rare to enjoy working with someone who has applied consistent and uninterrupted high standards for as long as 50 years. The woodlands reflect his expert touch.”
