Professional Conduct
ICF Code of Conduct
All members of the Institute are required to uphold the integrity and reputation of the profession of forestry and arboriculture and to safeguard the public interest in matters of safety and health and otherwise.
Members must exercise their professional skills and judgement to the best of their abilities and discharge their professional responsibilities with integrity. All members of the Institute are bound by the Code of Conduct.

The ICF Code of Conduct is composed of 6 key standards. The sections below set out some behaviors and questions you could ask yourself when considering if your conduct meets professional standards.

- Standard 5 – Act in a way that promotes trust in the profession
- Standard 6 – Have regard for sustainability throughout your work
Complaints and Discipline
All communication on matters relating to a complaint against a member must be made in writing to the Secretary of the Institute.Visit our Guidance for Making a Complaint page for further information.
The Institute’s Complaints Panel, which considers complaints against members, is currently chaired by Mr John Warren, a retired employment judge, in addition to senior members of the Institute.
