Trees are increasingly put forward as part of the solution to the most urgent challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. For 2024, this fifth Trees, People and the Built Environment (TPBE5) hybrid conference will examine two very different roles for trees – how they can improve the quality of place for both people and nature and how they can contribute to the net zero carbon ambition for buildings and the built environment. This is a partnership conference brought to you by the Institute of Chartered Foresters, Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, CIRIA, Institution of Structural Engineers, Landscape Institute, RIBA and the Trees and Design Action Group.
