Student membership
This entry-level membership is open to anyone undertaking an appropriate full or part-time course of study within the UK.
As a Student member, you’ll learn about the profession from the inside. You’ll gain access and insight into the range of careers that will be available to you after you graduate, and you can get involved with the Institute in your region to grow your network and credibility.
There simply is no better way to get to know your sector and grow the experience you need to stand out to prospective employers.

Associate membership
This entry-level membership package is open to individuals who have successfully completed an appropriate course of study as they work to gain the professional experience required for Professional Membership Entry, the standard route to gaining chartered status.
As an Associate member, you will join other qualified, like-minded professionals from every part of the sector and demonstrate your commitment to becoming chartered by growing your credibility with employers and colleagues.
You will keep up with the latest research and policy through our communications, publications, and events, where sector leaders share their insight into the latest innovations, technology, and best practices. And you can raise your profile and grow your influence across the sector as you work towards chartered status.

Supporter membership is open to anyone with an interest in Forestry and Arboriculture who cannot pursue chartered status.
Supporters of the Institute may be academics, students, or professionals practising in a related field. Some are environmental photographers, journalists, or lawyers. Others are members of the public with an interest in the latest developments in the sector.
