On 20 November, the Institute’s Executive Director, Louise Simpson, met with the Chief Executives of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), with input from the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
These biannual meetings were set up to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing membership bodies across these sectors. During this meeting, there were discussions around investment in digital infrastructure, including working with AI both organisationally and as a sector, and the impact of the recent budget on each organisation. In addition, the leaders discussed membership categories, retention rates and the length of time it takes to become chartered. Louise expressed that she always leaves these meetings enthused by the genuine desire to learn from each other and collaborate.
