Job description

This is a brand new unique role where you can really make a true meaningful difference for woodland creation / climate action.

We need to act quickly to tackle the worst consequences of the climate crisis and global warming driven by carbon dioxide emissions. As one of the UK’s single biggest private landowners we’re in a strong position to help. Planting and establishing more trees will capture carbon from the atmosphere as they grow.

Our approach to tree establishment ensures we maximise the benefit for people and nature, as well as locking up carbon. We’ll establish new hedgerows and woodlands as well as creating innovative agroforestry projects and restoring historic wood pasture and orchards – and increasing tree cover in other settings.

Caring for a significant portion of the Lake District World Heritage Site we recognise the need for action and the complexities of delivering credible woodland work within this sensitive, complex and much-loved landscape. That’s why we have created this new role as part of our Treescapes project to work closely with our operational team and key partners.

It is going to take a unique person with technical woodland knowledge, great engagement skills and a good understanding of the bigger picture to help us have real impact here. If you are that person please do apply.
