The Mersey Forest Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Woodland Advisor to lead the delivery of new woodland planting and management projects in the region. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in tackling climate change and nature loss, while contributing to the Mersey Forest Plan and supporting key local and national policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry or a related field, with proven experience in woodland creation, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a passion for environmental conservation. Innovation, enthusiasm and great team working ability are some of the qualities we are looking for.
Professional membership with the Institute of Chartered Foresters or other relevant professional body is desirable but not a requirement.
In a typical week you will be:
- Meeting with landowners to discuss funding options
- Carrying out site visits
- Consulting with relevant public bodies
- Designing climate resilient woodlands and developing sustainable establishment plans
- Project management and administration
- Be part of a supportive and committed team.
