H&H Land & Estates has a unique opportunity for an experienced and ambitious individual to take this exciting role in an area of significant growth over the next few years. H&H Land & Estates provides advice and management services to clients with all types of forestry from privately owned commercial timber, estate forestry, farm woodlands, upland plantations and landscape scale native woodland schemes.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and commercially minded Forestry and Woodland Manager to join our busy and expanding team. Working with a portfolio of clients across the North of England with the opportunity for a varied portfolio of work.
Part time and full time applications will be considered.
Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities
- To provide professional advice to clients primarily on forestry and woodland related matters, especially current and legacy Government environmental and forestry schemes and legislative requirements
- To prepare and submit woodland creation projects
- To prepare and manage standing timber sales, monitoring operations using independent contractors and manage the new planting, restocking and a wide range of woodland maintenance operations
- To secure the necessary consents and appropriate grants
- To undertake woodland assessment, mapping, preparation of reports and long term plans
- To provide support and advice to colleagues and clients
- To provide other environmental services as appropriate.
