Job description

We are looking for a forest manager to work alongside the existing team in the Savills North region. The successful candidate will be based out of our Carlisle office but must be able to work agilely covering the northwest. With a relevant forestry or land-based qualification, you will relish the challenge of developing your forestry business, whilst enjoying the support and benefits of working within a local, multi-disciplinary team with strong UK and global connections.

The Person

The following criteria are considered desirable:

  • Approachable personality with ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with colleagues and clients
  • Commercially aware, with proven ability to identify and develop profitable business opportunities
  • Comprehensive technical forestry knowledge and experience
  • Existing professional membership (or working toward) of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another professional body.


With these skills you will undertake a challenging range of forestry management assignments. Day to day tasks will include strategic and operational planning, contract supervision and effective liaison with clients and stakeholders. In addition, the successful applicant will develop and expand the forestry business from Carlisle. Travel to other sites within the UK may be required on occasion.
