EJD Forestry is a small Forestry Management business with offices in Yorkshire, Dumfries and Beauly. We provide management services and advice to a range of clients. We are looking for a Forest Manager to join our team working in Scotland. The role will involve the management of an expanding portfolio of properties including woodland creation sites where you will manage scheme development. Responsibilities will include maintaining good client relationships including the identification and delivery of objectives, the preparation and implementation of annual budgets and reports, and supervision of all forest management operations. We provide our managers with considerable autonomy in the running of their role and offer flexibility in the scope of their work.
Training and support will be given to help professional development alongside encouragement to progress to a more senior role.
About you
The following attributes are required for the role
- A minimum of 3 years experience in forest and woodland management
- Relevant academic qualification
- Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable
- Good understanding of UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS and the production of compliant plans
- Good understanding and experience of FGS Woodland Creation
- Experience of supervising and managing contractors
- Good communication skills and commercial acumen
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity and basic competence with GIS mapping systems
- Full UK driving licence
