Job description

Summary

Come play a part of our great team in this unique role as Assistant Trees & Woodland Adviser.

The role is part of the National Trust’s Treescapes Project which is delivering woodland restoration and new tree planting across the Lake District. You’ll be strongly focussed on operational delivery and work closely with the Lakes Head Forester and NT property teams to manage a programme of restocking and woodland management operations across 3500ha of woodland. You’ll also be working with the Treescapes Woodland Creation Officer to deliver new planting projects as these arise over the project period.

This is a 3-year full time fixed-term contract, working out of the NT Regional Office at The Hollens, Grasmere LA22 9QZ, or other Lake District location by agreement. There will be a mix of office and field work, with travel to sites across the Lake District. If you have any questions about the role please contact: stephen.smith@nationaltrust.org.uk

Please note this is the first of two Treescapes role we are recruiting in the Lakes. We will be recruiting a Woodland Creation Officer in the next few weeks – please look out for this on our website and feel free to apply for both roles.
