Would you like to be involved in shaping the future of Scotland’s forests and land? FLS manages nearly 9% of Scotland, and this means not only managing forests, but also restoring peatlands, integrating renewables projects, managing busy recreation sites, and caring for diverse habitats. We’re committed to managing land to adapt to climate change, secure carbon, improve biodiversity and create great places for the people of Scotland.
We are looking for five additional Area Managers for our South and North Regions, who will have responsibility for motivating a team and overseeing how we manage the land to meet a wide range of objectives. The role involves negotiating with contractors and timber customers, managing and prioritising budgets, and engaging with colleagues while supporting sustainable land management.
We’re looking for someone who can successfully manage a team; can demonstrate leadership and make well informed decisions under pressure; have sound knowledge of land and forest
management; and have some experience of budget management or collaborative working. If you would like to take the lead on managing part of rural Scotland, then we want to hear from you.
