Institute’s Executive Director speaks at Westminster Employer Forum

Executive Director of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, Louise Simpson, spoke at the Westminster Employment Forum’s recent keynote seminar – ‘Green skills – next steps for policy, and priorities for education and training, businesses, and the workforce’ on Tuesday 23 May.

With the UK Government’s commitment to the creation of two million green jobs by 2030, the conference addressed short and long-term skills shortages in several areas, including environmental land management. Chaired by Evelyn Phippard, Senior Strategy Advisor at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the seminar covered how we identify the future needs of the green economy, priorities for education and training providers in meeting the needs of the future workforce, aligning the workforce and labour market with wider levelling up, environmental and economic pathways, and policy priorities for realising the UK’s ambitions for green skills and jobs.
