Institute appoints new Technical Policy Manager

We are delighted to announce that Caroline Harrison MICFor will be joining the Institute team in November as our new Technical Policy Manager.

Caroline is a Chartered Forester with some 30 years of forestry and wood supply chain experience. She is a Cumbrian who, before she found her passion for forestry and settled in Devon, was set on being a hill sheep farmer. Caroline started her career at the Working Woodlands Project supporting the southwest woodland supply chain. Since then she has been the England Manager for the Confederation of Forest Industries (Confor) and latterly Executive Director of Evolving Forests. She is a Trustee of the Royal Forestry Society and Woodland Heritage. In her spare time she is a keen gardener with an interest in the future resilience of food production.

Speaking on the new role, Caroline said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Institute of Chartered Foresters as Technical Policy Manager to further the aims of the Institute and my deep rooted passion for the growth and success of our sectors and people. I look forward to meeting members and colleagues, old and new, and bring to the role the courage to challenge with an inquisitive attitude fed by a desire to learn and improve.”
