Help steer research on development-related impacts on ancient woodland

Funded by Defra’s Nature for Climate Fund, the AWDev (NCF): Ancient Woodland and Development Impacts project aims to deliver evidence that will underpin future policy, practice, and sector guidance for safeguarding ancient woodlands whilst supporting responsible development and woodland use. The project is jointly run by an interdisciplinary team of landscape ecologists, social scientists, forest ecologists and planning/policy experts from the University of Reading, Forest Research, Forestry Commission, Natural England and Defra.

We strongly encourage Institute members to engage with the first step of this research that will identify and prioritise evidence gaps and policy/practice needs. This anonymous short survey is made up of 11 questions and is open until 25 June 2023please respond here.
