Forest Landscape Design Course

Forest Landscape Design Training Course

Forestry Commission Scotland are to hold a Forest Landscape Design training course this coming Autumn. The course will explore the principles of such design and is open to anyone involved in forest and woodland management.

Nicholas Shepherd, Landscape and Culture Adviser with Forestry Commission Scotland, who will run the informal two-day courses, said:

“Although we are ‘classroom based’ we’re aiming for an enjoyable, ‘test-free’ experience that is suitable for all levels of ability. Through a mix of presentations and group exercises, we’ve set out to help people explore the underpinning principles of forest landscape design and how to apply those principles to enhance the local landscape.

“We expect that everyone who takes part will be able to make use of their new found knowledge when preparing and reviewing forest management plans.

Subject to demand, it is intended to run the courses at locations throughout Scotland between September and November 2014.There will be a non-refundable registration fee of £40 as a contribution towards the costs of setting up the courses.
