CANCELLED – ICF Midlands: Forest Resilience – From Seed to Sawmill & AGM

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event is no longer going ahead. The Midlands Regional Committee hope to reschedule this event for 2020.

All members in the region will be notified of all future regional events by email as they are scheduled.

An engaging and thought-provoking event looking into the resilience and adaptation of all parts of the forest supply chain from seed through to sawmill. The morning session will include speakers from the private sector, Forest Research, and the Forestry Commission.

The morning session will be based indoors at Welshampton Hall, Whitchurch and will explore topics including

  • Climate change adaptation & species choice
  • Seed origin and stand registration
  • Tree breeding and UK timber
  • Tree health

The afternoon will focus on a nursery tour of the nearby Maelor Forest Nursery, which markets around 28 million trees per year to the industry. We will explore each aspect of nursery growing and will be treated to an exclusive tour of the facilities.
