ICF Harvesting & Marketing Study Tour 2019


The Institute is proud to host a two-day study tour for Harvesting & Marketing and Timber Processing staff in the spring. Attendees on the study tour will visit operations on both public and private estates, and will have the chance to discuss with their peers,

  • Forest engineering and forest road construction
  • Ground conditions, including steep slope harvesting
  • Site planning and extraction
  • Thinning intensity
  • Health and Safety considerations

  • Community engagement, impact and appeasement
  • Effective communication with multiple stakeholders, clients and contractors
  • Proximity to markets
  • Product recovery, including maximising income for the client
