Book now

As part of the 3Rivers project you are invited to join a woodland & river – walk & talk workshop exploring latest initiatives & best management practice for riparian woodlands & timber extraction to protect water quality & fisheries together with the role of woodlands in Natural Flood Management.

Westcountry Rivers Trust in partnership with Pryor & Rickett Silviculture, Euroforest Ltd & the Environment Agency will be promoting their new “Preserving Water Quality During Forestry Timber Extraction” best practice guidelines & “Timber Harvesting Water Protection Checklist “. The event is being run by Martin Harmer of the West Country Rivers Trust (www.wrt.org.uk) as part of their three rivers project on the Rivers Tavy, Lumburn & Walkham.

These rivers are currently failing environmental standards for phosphate & fish populations. We are also considering options for Natural Flood Management initiatives. Riparian woodlands & forestry operations can have both positive & negative effects on water quality, fisheries & river flows.
