In recognition of his significant contribution to the work of the European Forest Institute (EFI), Dr Gary Kerr FICFor has been awarded an EFI Fellowship which he was presented with at their Annual Conference in Bonn in September 2024.
The EFI is globally recognised as a leading science-policy platform providing forest-related knowledge to build a sustainable future. Gary was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) between 2017 and 2022 and was Chair between 2020 and 2022.
Gary is currently a member of the Institute’s Council and has been Chair of the Professional and Educational Standards Committee since 2022. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Institute’s scientific journal Forestry: An International Journal of Forest Research from 2001-2021.
