Call for Woodland Carbon Code Advisory Board members

The Woodland Carbon Code (WCC) are looking for new members to join their WCC Advisory Board. Advisory Board members advise the Executive Board on the application, promotion, revision and further development of the WCC and meet four times a year or more if required. Please see below for the positions available:

Project Developers x 2 posts:  In order to be a project developer representative on the WCC’s Advisory Board, you need to have registered and validated at least 5 projects with the WCC.  Existing members are eligible to apply for a new 2-year term.

Corporate Buyer/User of carbon credits x 1 post: In order to be a corporate buyer representative on the WCC’s Advisory Board, your organisation should:

  • Have reported its emissions in the previous financial year
  • Have a science-based emissions reduction plan
  • Be working on achieving that plan

Plus, you should have purchased either Pending Issuance Units or Woodland Carbon Units in the last two years and have plans to purchase more.

Retail aggregator x 1 post: In order to be a retail aggregator representative on the WCC’s Advisory Board, your organisation should:

  • Have a ‘retail aggregator’ account on the UK Land Carbon Registry
  • Have transacted at least 10,000 units – either for the Woodland Carbon Code, the Peatland Code or other ICROA-endorsed standard

Investor x 1 post: In order to be an ‘investor’ representative on the WCC’s Advisory Board, your organisation should be planning to provide significant capital (at least £1 Million) via a mechanism which would enable the market to scale.
