Vacancy: ICF Technical Officer | Salary ~£27K plus benefits

Based in Bristol with some UK travel

The Institute of Chartered Foresters, a professional membership organisation for chartered forestry and arboricultural professionals, was founded in 1925. We are at an exciting point in our history and to help us continue to develop our success and our profile we are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Officer to join our team. Based in Bristol and reporting to the Development Director, you will work closely with the ICF team, regional groups and partnership bodies to help develop and run professional development events. You will also develop and support a vibrant network of regional groups to further the aims of the Institute.

You will ideally be a graduate (or equivalent) with proven project management and strong communication skills combined with the ability to build partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. A good understanding of knowledge exchange will be beneficial as well as the ability to work on your own initiative, e.g. by developing links and identifying opportunities to promote the role of ICF. You will be able to communicate messages effectively to different types of audiences. You will also be able to manage budgets and resources. Experience of the forestry or arboriculture or other land-based sector will be desirable as would experience of event management. Travel throughout the UK is required so you will hold a current UK drivers licence.

This position is being offered as a full time permanent post although a job share would be considered. We offer the following benefits: contributory pension scheme; professional development opportunities and 20 days annual leave in addition to statutory public holidays.
