Vacancy: ICF Development Director | Salary £40- 45,000

Based in Bristol (may be flexible)

The Institute of Chartered Foresters, a professional membership organisation for chartered forestry and arboricultural professionals, was founded in 1925. We are at an exciting point in our history and to help us continue to develop our success and our profile we are looking for an experienced senior professional to join our team.

This role, reporting directly to the Executive Director in Edinburgh, is key to the strategic development of the organisation and will provide the right individual with a great opportunity within a forward-looking membership organisation.

You will work as part of a small team to promote the professional status of the Chartered Forester and Arboriculturist to employers, the public and individual professionals, and to provide advice and information on forestry and arboriculture matters to key decision makers and influencers highlighting the importance of our profession to a growing industry. You will play a key role in identifying issues and opportunities for professional development in our sector, particularly through partnership working, developing and managing an annual programme of CPD events throughout the UK.

Knowledge of the profession and the issues currently facing the sector are desirable as are excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. The post requires motivation, initiative, and strategic insight combined with a professional approach. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required.
