Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme: Round 3

Forestry and Farming Improvement Scheme

On February 4th, 2014, Round 3 of the Forestry and Farming Improvement Scheme (FFIS) will be launched. £10 million in grants is expected to be awarded in the third phase of this scheme, which helps forestry, farming and horticulture businessses in England to become more efficient at using resources.

FFIS, which is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) aims to help make your business more profitable and resilient whilst reducing the impact of farming on the environment. The maximum grant has been increased this time around to £35,000, with previous grantees still being eligible to receive further funding in the third phase.

Items eligible for funding fall under 5 themes:

  • Forestry
  • Nutrient management
  • Energy efficiency
  • Water management
  • Animal health and welfare

Closing date for applications is April 4th. For more information on the FFIS scheme, visit the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs website.
