Thames Chase Community Forest Seek Trustees

Thames Chase Community Forest are currently seeking Trustees, and is calling on those with woodland and countryside management experience to join its dedicated board.

Thames Chase was established in 1990 to improve landscapes in East London and South Essex. One of 12 Community Forests in England it has been set up to regenerate and enhance the natural environment. The Forest covers 40 sq. miles through Havering, Thurrock, Barking and Dagenham and Brentwood local authorities. It aims over 40yrs to plant 5.5 million trees and turn 30% of the area into woodland. They are currently half way through the project and have planted 2.5 million trees, with lots more work they would still like to carry out.

The project is now run by a charitable trust, and operates under a board of trustees with a variety of skills. They are currently seeking someone with a knowledge of woodland and countryside management. For more information visit www.thameschase.org.uk or contact Anne Bartleet on 01376 561505
