Project Manager Sought for Groundbreaking Skills Initiative

ICF recently announced that it was part of successful bid for funding for a project to raise skills, create jobs, and drive enterprise and economic growth across the forestry sector in England. Funded by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, the primary focus will be to establish a multi-faceted learning network and support the professional development of the forestry sector’s workforce.

The project will be delivered by Rural Development Initiatives Ltd (RDI) who are now recruiting for a Project Manager to take responsibility for managing this innovative industry-led partnership initiative.

Project Manager Vacancy – Rural Development Initiatives Ltd.


A highly motivated individual is sought to work on a unique, ground breaking project for the forestry sector in England. The project will be run in a partnership between the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF), Rural Development Initiatives Ltd. (RDI) and employers from across the forestry sector. The successful person will manage the development and running of a Professional Development Network for foresters. This will involve working with forestry SMEs and producing and delivering professional development plans, courses, events and e-based learning.

RDI team are a not for profit company that works with public, private and charitable bodies throughout the UK and Europe to deliver a range of forestry, training and rural development related projects. The ICF is the Royal Chartered body for forestry and arboricultural professionals and the UK’s leading professional body relating to forests, woodlands and trees.

The postholder will be a member of the RDI team and based at the ICF offices in Bristol. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, along with flexible working conditions and the opportunity for advancement.
