Longhorn Beetle Found in UK

The Asian long-horned beetle (ALB) has been found for the first time in the UK, causing serious concern among Foresters and Arboriculturists about the possibility of a wider outbreak.

The Forestry Commission has issued a press release with details on measures to be taken to contain the threat.

The public and professionals alike are urged to report potential sightings or evidence of its presence to the Fera Plant Health Helpline by email or by telephone on 0844 248 0071.
